Oolong tea is a traditional Chinese tea.   Our oremium Tie Guan Yin or the Iron Goddess tea is the most well-known lightly fermented Oolong tea from Anxi, Fujian of China. From Fujian Province, probably the best known of Chinese high grade oolongs. The crinkly, slightly twisted leaves unfurl, as they brew, into lace-edged leaves and release a honey liquor with a smooth, delicate, orchid-like flavour and sweet floral aroma.
 
This medium-bodied tea falls between green and red tea in both character and colour. Tie Guan Yin tea is rich and known for its mesmerising flavour and its digestive power.  Studies have shown that Tie Guan Yin tea can help improve heart health, lower cholesterol levels, and reduce cancer risk. The tea has also been shown to boost cognitive function and memory.
 
It’s made from the leaves of the Camellia sinensis plant, the same plant used to make green teaand black tea. The difference is in how the tea is processed. 
The process of oxidation is what creates green, dark, or oolong teas. 
 
Similar to black and green teas, oolong tea contains several vitamins, minerals, and helpful antioxidants.  A cup of brewed oolong tea contains small amounts of calcium, magnesium, and potassium. It also contains about 38 mg of caffeine. In comparison, a cup of green tea contains about 29mg of caffeine.
