26th January is the official National Day of Australia - do we hear a big "Aussie! Aussie! Aussie! Oi! Oi! Oi!"?
What better way to celebrate Australia Day than with a big cook-up? Lamb is a popular meat to eat and be it rib, rump or roast, you'd want to have some lamb recipes handy for the big celebration!
Get out your barbecues, grills and skewers and get ready to roast! Our team at My Blue Tea love a good solid lamb satay made with our Satay Marinade Powders, and perhaps a few lamb shanks to go with that would be nice too! With all the Satay Marinade Powders that have left My Blue Tea's spice pantry, we gather >40,000 sticks satays have been happily served around the world!
Here are two recipes for lamb shank and lamb satay, so you're all ready and set for Australia Day!
LAMB SHANK RECIPE
Ingredients (A):
* 1 packet @my.blue.tea Rendang Base (50g)
* 300ml water
* 70ml cooking oil
* 150g chili boh
* 1kg lamb shank (pre-prepared - cooked until soft)
Ingredients (B):
* 200ml water
* 2g lemongrass*
* 2g galangal*
* 2g ginger*
* 100g onion*
Note :
*Blended
* 5g cumin**
* 5g fennel**
* 5g coriander**
* 235ml sweet soy sauce
* 100g roasted desiccated coconut (kerisik)
* 10g sugar
Note : **Fry without oil and crushed
Ingredients (C):
* 50g @my.blue.tea Santan DCM Coconut Powder (Shake and mix well water)
* 200ml of water
METHOD
1. Mix Ingredients (A) well and cook until water evaporates and oil rises to the top.
2. Add Ingredients (B) and lamb shank, cook until the gravy is rich and thick.
3. Lastly, add in Ingredients (C) and bring to boil until oil rises to the top.
4. Ready to serve.
LAMB SATAY RECIPE
Lamb satays are great for Australia Day! They are so easy to prepare, especially with My Blue Tea's Satay Powder, and they are a really convenient food to peck at, always a hit with adults and children!
METHOD
* Open 1 pack of @my.blue.tea Satay Marinade Powder and spread onto 1kg of lamb for > 3 hours.
* Remember to add some sugar so it will caramelise when you BBQ them.
* Skewer or pan fry. We suggest skewer for a bit of fun!
* Baste with pandan oil - 1 tspn pandan oil - and pour hot oil on it.
* Use lemongrass to baste when BBQ-ueing.
Tip:
For an extra kick, dip into our Satay Sauce - it's peanut friendly!
TURN DOWN THE HEAT
